Gov. Malloy Approves $95 Million in Bond Funding for Improvements to State Universities
Pursuant to state statute, Governor Dannel P. Malloy has approved $95 million in bond funding for Connecticut State University System (CSUS) 2020 projects during fiscal year 2014. CSUS 2020 is a comprehensive, long-term capital infrastructure investment plan which began in fiscal year 2009. It includes funds for infrastructure improvements, mechanical and electrical upgrades, renovation and equipment, code compliance, and new construction that will replace antiquated or inadequate facilities.

Gov. Malloy: Company Expansions in Wethersfield and Sprague Will Create and Retain 274 Jobs in Five Years
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced $5 million in loans to support the expansion of three Connecticut small businesses. The funding will help businesses in Wethersfield and Sprague expand operations, retain 156 jobs, and create 118 new jobs.

Gov. Malloy Formally Ends Civil Preparedness Emergencies from Hurricane Sandy and February Blizzard
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed Executive Order No. 33, which formally ends the state of civil preparedness emergencies declared by the Governor on October 27, 2012 and February 8, 2013. The order also rescinds the previously issued executive orders related to the storms.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today tapped former State Senator Edith Prague of Columbia to serve as the Commissioner of the newly-formed State Department on Aging (SDA). SDA will ensure that Connecticut's elderly population has access to the supportive services necessary to live with dignity, security, and independence, and is responsible for administering a variety of federally-funded programs under the Older American's Act.

Gov. Malloy: Sandy Hook Advisory Commission to Receive Testimony Friday on Emergency Planning
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission is next scheduled to meet on Friday, March 8, at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, where they will receive testimony from experts on the topics of school security and the state's emergency management infrastructure.
