Gov. Malloy: State And Community Organizations Seek Volunteers For Annual Homelessness Census
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Department of Housing Commissioner Evonne M. Klein, and Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness (CCEH) Executive Director Lisa Tepper Bates are encouraging Connecticut residents to volunteer for the annual point-in-time and youth count of homeless individuals in the state starting next week.

Gov. Malloy Appoints Vicki Veltri To Lead State's Office Of Health Strategy
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is appointing Victoria Veltri of Colchester to serve as Executive Director of the state’s Office of Health Strategy, a new state office created through the consolidation of several existing resources as part of the bipartisan state budget that was adopted in October. The office, which begins operations on February 1, will be responsible for implementing data-driven strategies that promote equal access to healthcare, improve the value of healthcare, contain costs, and ensure better healthcare systems for Connecticut residents.

Connecticut Veterans Parade Recognized by Veterans Day National Committee
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman and Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Linda S. Schwartz, announced today that the Connecticut Veterans Parade, held annually in Hartford, has been recognized by the Veterans Day National Committee as one of the nation's "Veterans Day Regional Sites". This is the third year that the Veterans Parade has been recognized by the National Committee.

Gov. Malloy And Lt. Gov. Wyman Applaud House Passage Of Legislation Banning Bump Stocks
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman are applauding the Connecticut House of Representatives for voting tonight to approve legislation that will ban enhancements that increase the rate of fire for semiautomatic weapons, including items such as bump stocks, trigger cranks, binary trigger systems, and other modifications. The legislation was adopted by a vote of 114-35.

Gov. Malloy And Lt. Gov. Wyman Commend Planned Parenthood's Action Against Trump-Pence Administration
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, and members of the administration released the following statements in response to Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit against the Trump-Pence administration, alleging that the dramatic changes the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is making to the Title X program – including changing the program so that it no longer focuses on either birth control or reproductive health care and instead pushes patients toward abstinence and tries to prevent patients from utilizing Planned Parenthood’s services – are contrary to the Title X statute and regulations, which make clear that Title X is meant to provide comprehensive, evidence-based contraception and reproductive health services.
