Gov. Malloy: $8 Million to Modernize Rail Freight Infrastructure Will Improve Commerce and Create Jobs

Gov. Malloy Statement on Board of Regents Vote to Appoint Gregory W. Gray as New President
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the following statement in response to a vote by the members of the Board of Regents for Higher Education on Thursday to appoint Dr. Gregory W. Gray to be the next President of the Board of Regents, which governs the 17 Connecticut State Colleges & Universities (ConnSCU), which includes 12 community colleges, four state universities and Charter Oak State College, the state’s only public, online institution.

Gov. Malloy: State/Local Partnerships Restore Brownfield Sites for Economic Development
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith and other state and local officials, today announced that Bridgeport, Naugatuck, Newington, North Haven, Plainville, and Trumbull will receive a total of more than $6.5 million in grants and loans to clean up eight blighted brownfield sites.

Gov. Malloy: $1.16 Million in Loans Awarded for Affordable Housing
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Department of Housing Commissioner Evonne M. Klein, and state and local officials, today announced $1.16 million in loans through the Department's Predevelopment Cost Revolving Loan Program to help fund six proposed affordable housing sites in Danielson, Oxford, Ledyard, Salisbury, Seymour, and Waterbury. The developments will create 234 units of elderly, family, and supportive housing.

Gov. Malloy: $13.8 Million Investment Will Strengthen Affordable Housing and Urban Revitalization
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today joined Department of Housing Commissioner Evonne Klein, Mayor John DeStefano Jr., and state and local officials, to announce $13.8 million in grants to fund 11 affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization programs throughout the state. The projects represent partnerships between state and local government as well as nonprofit groups, and will leverage private and federal funds to rehabilitate blighted housing, construct new units, and make improvements to existing properties.

Gov. Malloy: New Shore Line East Weekend Train Service Makes Coastal Connecticut More Accessible for Residents and Visitors
