Governor Nancy Wyman will join other state and local officials and residents at a ceremony dedicating a plaque at the rest stop and weigh station off I-91 north in Middletown to the memory of Trooper First Class Kenneth Hall, a 22-year veteran of the Connecticut State Police who died in the line of duty in September 2010 when a truck hit his patrol car while he was taking enforcement action on the side of the road.

• 12/17/2012 Gov. Malloy Signs Order Facilitating Newtown’s Sandy Hook Elementary School to Utilize School Facility in Monroe

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed an executive order suspending and modifying certain state statutes in order to permit the Town of Newtown and the Town of Monroe to enter into an agreement that will immediately allow Newtown’s Sandy Hook Elementary School to temporarily utilize Monroe’s Chalk Hill Middle School building for its classes.

• 12/7/2012 Gov. Malloy Proposes "Roadmap to Deficit Mitigation"

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released what he called a "roadmap to a deficit mitigation plan," saying he hopes the final product will be a bipartisan agreement. Having met with legislative leaders of both parties over the past few days, Governor Malloy said that he is proposing all sides - the Governor's office, the Office of Policy and Management (OPM), and all four legislative caucuses – begin meeting Monday to try and come to an agreement on a final deficit mitigation plan that would be voted on in a special session, which the Governor called for today by proclamation to convene on December 19, 2012.
