Governor Dannel P. Malloy today issued a Call of Special Session for Thursday, June 30 at 10 a.m. Governor Malloy issued the call to expand his rescission authority and enact legislation to close the budget deficit for the biennium ending June 30, 2013.

Gov. Malloy on Final Passage of "First Five" Initiative
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today hailed the final passage of legislation he proposed creating the “First Five” program – a new jobs initiative that will provide a unique set of incentives to the first five businesses that each bring a minimum of 200 new full-time jobs to Connecticut within the next 24 months.

Monday: Gov. Malloy Announces Launch of Connecticut Summer Tourism Campaign
On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Commission on Culture and Tourism Executive Director Kip Bergstrom, will announce a unique public-private partnership between CCT and Connecticut businesses and tourist attractions. This Quick-Start campaign will provide funding to allow CCT to market the state's tourist attractions, events and lodging ahead of the busy summer tourist season.

Thursday: Gov. Malloy Addresses General Assembly at Midnight, Holds Session Wrap-Up Media Availability at 9 A.M.
On Thursday at midnight, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will address a joint convention of the General Assembly to give closing remarks for the 2011 Regular Session of the legislature. On Thursday morning, Governor Malloy will hold a media availability to discuss the conclusion of the session, what was accomplished, and what is still left to do.

On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give welcoming remarks at the Connecticut Matchmaking Business Conference, an event designed to match qualified Connecticut small businesses with federal and state prime contractors to increase business opportunities. The conference is hosted by the CT Department of Administrative Services, the Secretary of the State, the CT Procurement Technical Assistance Program, the University of Hartford, the US General Services Administration, and the US Small Business Administration.

Tuesday: Gov. Malloy Participates in National 9/11 Flag Restoration Ceremony
On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join FDNY firefighters and other local first responders for the National 9/11 Flag restoration ceremony at the Old State House in Hartford. Destroyed in the aftermath of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2011, the flag has been touring all 50 states where pieces of fabric from U.S. flags destined for retirement in each state have been stitched together to bring the flag back to its original 13-stripe format.

Gov. Malloy: Commissioner Currey Announce Anticipated Technology Upgrades to Improve DMV Services
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Melody A. Currey today announced that the State Bond Commission is anticipated this week to approve an allocation of $3 million designated towards continued technology improvements to set up a number of online services for customers doing business with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
