Gov. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Wyman Statements on Additional Federal Support for Newtown Recovery Efforts
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman today released the following statements in response to the U.S. Department of Education’s announcement that it will award Newtown Public Schools with an additional $1.9 million grant for support services following the December 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Gov. Malloy: Agreement Will Invest in Our Children and Those Who Care for Them
Joined by home-based child care providers and union officials, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced an agreement between the State of Connecticut and CSEA/SEIU LOCAL 2001 providing for professional development and the first general wage increases in 12 years for family child care providers under Connecticut Care 4 Kids program, the state’s program to provide better opportunities for quality child care and subsidize child care costs for low income families.

Gov. Malloy & Lt. Gov. Wyman: State Grant Will Increase Access to Riverfront in Downtown Hartford
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lieutenant Gov. Nancy Wyman today announced that $1.5 million in state funding will support the Riverwalk South and Gateway project in Hartford – the last piece of a three-mile loop of fully accessible riverwalks between the Founders and Charter Oak Bridges, and more than 4.5 miles of riverwalks in Riverfront’s four parks along the Connecticut River.

Gov. Malloy: Federal Approval Validates State's Effort to Eliminate Fraud
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Attorney General George Jepsen today announced that the federal government has validated the newly expanded False Claims Act, allowing the state to continue receiving a greater percentage of Medicaid dollars recovered than states without a federal approval.
