• 7/18/2013 Gov. Malloy: "Step Up" Workforce Training Program Broadened to Include Veterans of Any Age and Any War

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL) Commissioner Sharon M. Palmer, and state and local officials, today celebrated the passage of Public Act 13-63 – An Act Concerning the Definition of New Employee in the Unemployed Armed Forces Member Subsidized Training and Employment Program, which expands Connecticut's Subsidized Training and Employment Program (Step Up) to include veterans who have served at least 90 days and were honorably discharged from the military.

• 7/11/2013 Gov. Malloy’s Sandy Hook Advisory Commission Continues Discussions Friday on Public Safety and School Security

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission is next scheduled to meet on Friday, July 12, at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, where they will review new state laws that were approved from the recently adjourned legislative session, followed by a presentation on school security from the president of the National School Safety and Security Services.
