Tuesday: Gov. Malloy & Lt. Gov. Wyman Attend Dedication of Reintegration Center
On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will participate in the dedication ceremony of the Cybulski Community Reintegration Center in Enfield. The correctional facility is being re-commissioned - as part of the Governor's Second Chance Society initiatives - to become a Reintegration Center that prepares inmates for successful community re-entry.

Thursday: Gov. Malloy Participates in Rally on Federal Transportation Funding; Speaks at YWCA Hartford Region Luncheon
On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Senator Chris Murphy, Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty, Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner James P. Redeker and a group of transportation advocates at a rally as part of "National Stand Up 4 Transportation Day" urging the U.S. Congress to pass multi-year federal transportation funding legislation.

Gov. Malloy Announces New Competitive Funding Round to Support the Development of Affordable Housing Throughout the State
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that another round of funding under the state's Competitive Housing Assistance for Multifamily Properties (CHAMP) program has opened, creating additional opportunities for affordable housing development in the state. Applications for this round - the seventh since Governor Malloy took office in 2011 - are due to the Connecticut Department of Housing by June 10, 2015.

Gov. Malloy Announces Approval to Reduce Standardized Testing for Grade 11 Students
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has approved a waiver request he submitted on behalf of the State of Connecticut to reduce the amount of standardized testing required for public high school students. In an effort to eliminate duplicative testing, reduce over-testing, mitigate student stress, and address parental concerns, the Governor last fall sought federal approval to replace the 11th grade Smarter Balance Assessment - or SBAC exam - with the SAT.With today's approval, starting in the fall 2015-2016 school-year, the SAT will be used in lieu of SBAC, and will be free for all Connecticut students.

Gov. Malloy Announces that Connecticut is First State in America to End Chronic Veteran Homelessness
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut has been designated by the federal government as being the first state in the nation to have ended chronic homelessness among veterans.

Gov. Malloy, Attorney General Jepsen, Commissioner Klee Statements on EPA Rule on Pollution from Power Plants
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Attorney General George Jepsen, and Commissioner Robert Klee of Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection released the following statements regarding the release today of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Clean Power Plan, which will regulate carbon pollution from existing electric power plants.The EPA was required to issue this rule under the Clean Air Act and as a result of the 2006 decision by the United States Supreme Court in Massachusetts et al v. Environmental Protection Agency in which twelve states, including Connecticut, and several cities, brought suit against the EPA to force that federal agency to regulate carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases as pollutants.

Gov. Malloy Announces $18 Million to Revitalize and Expand Affordable Housing Opportunities
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Department of Housing (DOH) Commissioner Evonne M. Klein today announced that the State of Connecticut is awarding $17,960,000 in loans and grants to help fund ten affordable housing developments in the State Sponsored Housing Portfolio.

Gov. Malloy: CTtransit Buses Soon to Provide Real-Time GPS Tracking Information Statewide
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that CTtransit buses throughout the state will soon be equipped with GPS devices that will provide real-time bus location information to riders. With a total of 42 million passenger trips taken per year, riders will be able to better plan travel with up-to-the-minute arrival and departure information, as well as a better experience, with the new devices.

Gov. Malloy: Federal Aid for January Blizzard Has Reached Nearly $1.5 Million
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that nearly $1.5 million in federal assistance has been received by Connecticut since President Obama approved his Disaster Declaration request for New Haven, New London, Tolland, and Windham Counties as a result of the January 2015 blizzard. During the storm, some areas saw more than two feet of snow, with many towns - particularly in eastern Connecticut - devastated for several days or more.

Gov. Malloy Plans Transformation of Meriden Highway Interchange
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today visited one of the most complex and congested highway interchanges in Connecticut where I-91, I-691 and Route 15 converge in Meriden and called for a new design of the area to enhance safety, improve traffic flow, and reduce congestion.
