Gov. Malloy Tours Growing Nutrigenomics Startup in Hartford
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today toured the Hartford headquarters of ThinkitDrinkit, a recipient of state assistance through the Small Business Express Program (EXP) and the Subsidized Training and Employment Program (STEP UP) which have helped the startup company grow steadily over the last year and hire more than 20 new employees.

Friday: Gov. Malloy Visits Bricklayers Apprenticeship Site in Wallingford
On Friday at afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit an apprenticeship program in Wallingford, where a group of apprentices are receiving on-the-job training with related classroom instruction in the areas of bricklaying, cement mason and tile trades.

Gov. Malloy's Sandy Hook Advisory Commission to Meet Friday, Discuss Law Enforcement Response and State's Attorney Report
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission is next scheduled to meet on Friday, December 20, at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, where they will receive a presentation from the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association regarding the response of law enforcement to the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Honoring a Solemn Day in our State’s History
Nearly a year ago, our state was confronted by an act of confounding evil. For many of us, the emotions we felt that day and in the days after are still raw, as if the events at Sandy Hook Elementary School happened only a moment ago. Of course, no one feels this more than the families and friends who lost a loved one that terrible day.

Gov. Malloy: First of Two Increases in State's Minimum Wage Scheduled to Take Effect Wednesday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today reminded Connecticut residents that the first of two scheduled increases in the state’s minimum wage is slated to take effect this week as a result of a new law the Governor signed earlier this year, which requires the state’s minimum wage to increase from $8.25 to $8.70 on January 1, 2014, followed by a second increase on January 1, 2015 to $9.00.

Gov. Malloy: Flags to be Lowered in Honor of Nelson Mandela
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that in accordance to a proclamation from President Barack Obama, U.S. and state flags should fly at half-staff through sunset on Monday, December 9, “as a mark of respect for the memory of Nelson Mandela.”

Gov. Malloy: Responders Involved in Sandy Hook Tragedy to Receive Compensatory Time Under Negotiated Agreement
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that first responders and other state employees who were significantly involved with the direct response to the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School last year will be credited with forty hours of compensatory time under an agreement reached between the state and six unions representing the state employees.
