On Wednesday Morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak at a Latino Advocacy Day news conference at the Legislative Office Building. Following that, Governor Malloy will give a speech at the Connecticut Nurses’ Association Legislative Day at The Bushnell in Hartford.

Wednesday: Governor Malloy Takes Business Tour of FuelCell Energy in Torrington, Attends No Kid Hungry Campaign Launch in Middletown, Holds Town Hall in New Haven
On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will take a business tour of the FuelCell Energy manufacturing facility in Torrington. The tour of the company’s facility will give the Governor an opportunity to meet with the management team and staff at the Connecticut-based business, which manufactures Ultra-Clean stationary fuel cell power plants that generate electricity with up to twice the efficiency of conventional fossil fuel plants and virtually no air pollution.

Friday: Governor Malloy Holds Post-Bond Commission Media Availability
On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a media availability at the conclusion of the scheduled meeting of the State Bond Commission. Items included in the meeting’s agenda invest in the revitalization of Connecticut’s infrastructure, create or maintain thousands of construction-related jobs, and enhance future economic growth in the state.

Updated Information: Locations for Several Upcoming Gov. Malloy Town Hall Meetings Moved to New Venues
Governor Dannel P. Malloy’s office today announced that the locations for seven previously scheduled Town Hall Meetings in Stamford, New Haven, Greenwich, Manchester, Windham, Norwalk and Danbury have been moved to larger venues to accommodate an increased number of participants.

On Friday, Governor Malloy will continue speaking to Connecticut citizens about his budget proposal, and hear their thoughts and suggestions, as well. With his new Labor Commissioner Glenn Marshall, Governor Malloy will speak with labor groups about his proposal and answer questions they may have.

Gov. Malloy Activates Emergency Operations Center Tonight at 11 p.m.
After a conference call with Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS) staff and key commissioners, Governor Dannel P. Malloy ordered the state's Emergency Operations Center within the State Armory to be opened at 11 p.m. this evening.

Gov. Malloy Appoints Fairfield First Selectman Ken Flatto as Executive Director of Division of Special Revenue
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has appointed Fairfield First Selectman Kenneth Flatto as Executive Director of the Division of Special Revenue. The Division of Special Revenue is responsible for managing various special revenues and for regulating legalized gaming in the State of Connecticut, including the Lottery and Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.

Gov. Malloy and Dept. of Developmental Services Use Federal Dollars to Expand Access for Clients
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the U. S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently approved a new Employment and Day Supports Waiver that will help the state Department of Developmental Services (DDS) improve access to services for people with developmental disabilities.

Gov. Malloy Announces Appointment of Joseph Perkins as Deputy Commissioner of Veterans Affairs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that Joseph T. Perkins of Niantic has been appointed to be the Deputy Commissioner of Veterans Affairs. Most recently, Perkins worked as the Manager of Security Services at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford. He is a 22-year veteran of the Connecticut State Police Department and was a member of both the United States Marine Corps, during which time he served in Vietnam in 1965-1966, and the Connecticut Army National Guard.

Gov. Malloy Appoints Membership of Criminal Justice Commission
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has appointed six highly respected lawyers and jurists to the state’s Criminal Justice Commission. Governor Malloy named Justice Richard N. Palmer of Cromwell; Judge Juliett L. Crawford of New Haven; Mary M. Galvin of West Haven; Maura H. Horan of South Windsor; Moy N. Ogilvie of West Hartford; and Ann G. Taylor of Weatogue.

Tuesday: Governor Malloy Speaks With Students in Greenwich, Addresses Hamden Chamber, Takes Business Tours of Covidien in North Haven, Volvo Aero in Newington, Holds Town Hall in Manchester
On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak with a group of students and teachers at Eagle Hill School in Greenwich. Eagle Hill is a school for children with learning disabilities, committed to helping develop children’s academic skills, learning strategies, and self-advocacy skills in preparation for their return to a more traditional learning environment.
