Today: Gov. Malloy, Rep. Larson Hold Availability After Meeting to Discuss Federal Healthcare Reform Implementation
This afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join Congressman John Larson, Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Dr. Donald Berwick, and Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Public Health Jeannette DeJesús for a meeting about federal healthcare reform implementation in Connecticut.

Tuesday: Governor Malloy Attends Work Zone Safety Kick-Off Event in Newington, Holds Town Hall in New Britain
On Tuesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give remarks at a press conference in Newington to kick off Work Zone Safety Awareness Week, an annual campaign sponsored by the Department of Transportation, State Police, CT Police Chiefs Association and the utility companies to promote the safety of workers and motorists in roadway work zones. On Tuesday evening, Governor Malloy will hold a town hall meeting in New Britain, the fifteenth stop in his statewide series of 17 town hall meetings to discuss the state’s pressing economic and budgetary issues face-to-face with state residents.

Today: First Lady Cathy Malloy Participates in Walk to Raise Awareness of Sexual Assault
This afternoon, First Lady Cathy Malloy will participate in the 2011 Sexual Assault Awareness Walk at the University of Bridgeport. Individuals, teams, organizations and families participating in the walk have been raising donations for the Center for Women and Families of Fairfield County, which provides a variety of programs and services to address the ongoing issues of domestic violence and sexual assault in their community.

Governor Malloy Declares "Husky Weekend" in the State of Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced he is declaring Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April 3 as “Husky Weekend” in the State of Connecticut, in honor of both the UConn men’s and women’s basketball teams playing in the Final Four of the 2011 NCAA Basketball Tournaments this weekend.

Thursday: Governor Malloy at Milford Chamber Meeting, Business Tour of Schick, Greater Manchester Chamber Meeting, CT Air National Guard Ceremony, American Institute Graduation
On Thursday at 8:30 a.m., Governor Dannel P. Malloy will be the keynote speaker at a Milford Chamber of Commerce meeting at the Schick Corporation headquarters in Milford. The Governor has been visiting Chambers of Commerce across the state over the past few months, where he has spoken about his efforts to improve the business climate in Connecticut and get our state’s fiscal house in order to help create new jobs and keep the ones we have.

After Listening to Connecticut’s Citizens at Town Hall Meetings, Gov. Malloy Revises Tax Package, Reinstates Property Tax Credit to $300
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today reflected on his first 100 days in office and the 17 Town Hall Meetings he held across the state. Governor Malloy began those meetings on February 21 in Bridgeport and finished on April 12 in Middletown. Taking into account the concerns raised, Governor Malloy today announced that he would reinstate the property tax credit to $300. In addition, his revised tax package lessens the burden on the vast majority of the middle class.

Gov. Malloy Signs Executive Order Increasing Availability of Propane for Homeowners
Governor Dannel P. Malloy signed an executive order on Thursday that will increase the availability and accessibility of propane to households throughout the state. The executive order temporarily suspends a state regulation that prohibits the refueling of a propane tank by anyone other than the company that owns the tank.

Gov. Malloy: FEMA, FCC to Conduct First Nationwide Test of Emergency Alert System

Malloy today is reminding residents that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will conduct the first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) on Wednesday, November 9 at 2 p.m. EST.

Gov. Malloy Signs Orders Extending Deadlines for Personal Property Tax Declarations, Unemployment Insurance Filings
Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Wednesday afternoon signed two separate executive orders extending to November 15 the deadlines by which both personal property tax declarations and unemployment insurance tax filings must be reported.
