  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman released the following statements in response to an affirmative vote in both chambers of the Connecticut General Assembly this afternoon approving the state's agreement with Lockheed Martin that will keep Sikorsky Aircraft's worldwide headquarters located in Stratford through at least 2032, where the company will retain and grow approximately 8,000 direct jobs. As part of the agreement, Sikorsky has also pledged to nearly double its spending of $350 million per year among in-state suppliers.

The Connecticut Family Stability Pay for Success Project will combine nonprofit expertise, private funding, and independent evaluation to promote family stability and reduce parental substance use for DCF-involved families.

Malloy today announced that U.S. and state flags in Connecticut will be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, October 8, 2017, in recognition of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service, an annual observance honoring the sacrifices of fallen firefighters throughout the country. Accordingly, since no flag should fly higher than the U.S. flag, all other flags – including state, municipal, corporate, or otherwise – should also be lowered during this same duration of time.
